Each year, the Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS) holds a walk for rice event to raise money for ACRS food bank in Seattle. This event brings thousands of members who are enthusiastic about helping the community and fighting to end hunger in the King County area of Seattle.
Their goal is to raise $150,000 to help the ACRS food bank. To have this annual walk become this successful, the ACRS leadership has worked hard with many communities in the area, especially the Asian community. What started out 19 years ago with a group of only 45 participants has now become a huge group with thousands of supporters.
